My wife and I have just completed our second cruise with Celebrity, which was a 12 night cruise to New Caledonia and Fiji on the Celebrity Solstice.
We arrived at the Overseas Passenger Terminal at 10.00am, initially to drop off our luggage and were pleasantly surprised when advised that we could embark immediately. The embarkation process was very efficient and we were on board by 11.00am, having a glass of champagne on deck 5 and chatting to a very nice Scottish couple.
We then leisurely explored the ship for about an hour and then rather than have lunch in the main buffet, we decided to sit on deck 13 and have a hamburger and admire the view of Circular Quay, the Opera House and the CBD of Sydney.
A very spacious and well set out suite with plenty of wardrobe space and one of the best bathroom/toilet ensuite's we have experienced.
A very comfortable King size bed and a large flat screen television (no Australian Channels).
Spoilt by the OBSTRUCTED view from the balcony and the filthy dirty sheer curtains.
We spent the day on the beach, very pleasant, wonderful views.
The only problem was that the beach was covered by rough coral and it was difficult walking into and out of the water.
I felt we should have been advised of this by staff on Celebrity Solstice.
We flew into Sydney from Melbourne.
Caught a taxi to the Overseas Passenger Terminal and we had some time before embarkation, walked around Circular Quay and then to the Opera House. Great views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and Opera House.
Decided to have a coffee in a cafe at Circular Quay, rude waiter and terrible coffee spoilt a perfect morning in Sydney.
