My husband and I chose this ship and itinerary as our first foray into warm weather cruising. This was only our second cruise. Our first was with Princess (Alaska cruise tour). We felt the ship was the right size for what we wanted.
Our cabin steward was Sam and he was a delight. Always cheerful and eager to please. He greeted us by name each time we saw him. These people work very hard and we appreciated everything. The towel critters were a fun surprise each time we opened our door.
We boarded after a very busy weeks vacation exploring Florida and were ready to relax and be papered. We rested on our sea day en route to Roatan. On Roatan my husband did the two dive excursion while I went to Maya Key for several hours. He enjoyed diving but found out a bit later that he had been stung by a jellyfish. Other than limping the rest of the trip it did not slow him down much. I enjoyed my time at Maya Key and had a relaxing day.
We stayed in balcony stateroom 10201. While we had read complaints about the round shower and shower curtain previous to cruising we had no issues. Our stateroom was clean and well kept. There were about 20 hangers and plenty of drawers and shelves to store our clothing and miscellaneous items. Our luggage stored under the bed. The stateroom is the last one on this deck toward the front of the ship and the officer quarters. The spa is above which makes it very quiet (which we liked).
We found the port area clean and it had some great photo ops. It also had the most people calling to you from their shops to buy things. We booked a private jeep tour and were very satisfied. We customized our tour and only picked things we knew we would like. We swam and snorkeled at a private beach club, drove to the other side of the island for an excellent lunch and beautiful views, and toured a chocolate factory. We were not hassled to purchase items and it was a relaxing day.
