We are seasoned cruisers and "Platinum" on Norwegian but we had never sailed this itinerary or this ship. We had sailed out of Barcelona before. Barcelona has got to be the easiest port to embark on a cruise. I left all my documents on the plane in Barcelona but NCL made it not a problem. We had their transfer and they just let us get on the bus. No problem at check in, although I did not have my ticket or contract. Fortunately I did have the passports.

The ship is showing its wear but is a grand old lady. Has a warmth to it of its own. Beautifully appointed with lots of wood, a Versace rug in the Atrium, Samuri soldiers on the hall. The crew and staff were amazing. Our stateroom steward was amazing at getting our laundry back the same day. We don't drink alcohol but they had St. Regis non-alcohol wine which we love. Lots to do. Casino staff were generous and helpful. Good movies on the tv. Great singer who did the "Evita" number that was amazing. Magician was great as was the Dive. Only downside to this was the spa does not have an inside pool and don't book a hot stone message for 8 am and expect the sauna, or steam room or the hot stones to be hot. The Galaxy of the Stars at deck 12 forward is a beautiful space with wonderful windows and ever some quiet places to sit and look at the ocean or port. There is also a Bridge viewing room that can be entered from the Galaxy.

We did this back to back so one airfare, two cruises and more time to do excursions in port. In Casablanca, we did the mosque and Rick's Café the first week. The second week I went to Marrakesh. It was worth the 8 hours on the bus there and back. Zahir was a fantastic guide. In Funchal we did the cable car to Monte and toboggan ride (not to be missed) and the bus trip to the aire de serrado. The Blandy winery was interesting. In Lanzarote we did the fire mountain and camel ride with an excellent guide. Great fun and wonderful views. In Malaga we did the tour to Alhambra and Granada, Our guide for the trip was mush-mouthed and had to understand but Carlos was our guide in Alhambra and he was amazing. The second week We did Best of Tenerife which we had skipped the previous week because of snow on the mountain, Teide. The Rocas de Garcia were amazing. We were in Malaga on Good Friday with all the preparation for Semana Santa parades. There was a $4 shuttle roundtrip to town and I used the free Wi-Fi and McDonalds, the hop on, hop off tour and visited the Cathedral.

Cabin Review

Inside

Cabin IF

This was a quiet inside cabin near the elevator. Slight noise from I-95 on occasion and slight noise from a child in the next cabin the second week. Cabin was normal for inside, but it had the best shower with the best water pressure I have had in 29 cruises.
