We are a mid-fifties, well=traveled couple that just got back from cruising the Silhouette to the western Caribbean with our 21 year-old son. This was our second cruise, first was on Princess.
We thought it was fantastic! Great food, entertainment and very courteous staff. The ship was full, but never seemed that crowded with people. We never waited long for an elevator, and the pool deck was not overly crowded on sea days, so we could get loungers easily. We did not miss MUTS on Princess, as the silhouette pool deck was more relaxing without the blaring sound.
Our cabin was kept very tidy and clean the entire week, the food in the dining room was very good, and I liked the fact that they offered 'spa' items (low fat) as well as regular items. I also liked the normal sized portions that we were given. I have read that other reviewers think they are small, but really....the portion is what everybody should be eating, and if you are still hungry..order another! The buffet was exceptional, with lots of choices for every nationality. We also loved the outdoor eating area just off the buffet in the back of the ship. The food was definitely better than on the Crown Princess.
