Sail Date: Mar 2015

We have sailed the Fantasy before and knew what to expect. She is showing her age, so as mentioned before don't expect the world. The cruise prices are great, travel for us is convenient, staff is very good. Meals keep having lower standards each time we cruise and this was no exception. There were less selections and more that had extra charges. The food was good no issues there the dining staff we had was excellent, served timely, appropriately timed. The dining is not fast food so don't expect to go in and be finished in 20min. The buffets were acceptable, the omelets as usual were great, burgers etc. ok, pizza slices were smaller but they gave you two so I am not sure why they reduced sizes. Room service was excellent. Ship was crowded around pool area as is expected on every cruise we have been on, this is what everyone does on sea days. All staff that I had interactions with were exceptional. Rooms were cruise ship rooms considerable wear but clean.

Ports are as they have been every time very commercialized take an excursion if you go to Bahamas or shop there is not anything else to do. We elected to leave the ship at both ports for an hour or so and return. Things are expensive at Bahamas comparatively, if you are into visiting ports I suggest St Thomas, Jamaica or other itineraries than Bahamas. We attended Little Big Town concert and enjoyed it immensely. The cruise is what you make of it and we made it great. Hate to see the Fantasy leave Charleston but Sunshine is going to have more itineraries so excited about that.

Port Reviews

Charleston

I like Charleston and don't have the issues I have seen on here but this may be because we have priority boarding. We have less trouble here than at any other port. We drive and pull in and unload luggage, already tagged and ready to go. park and take shuttle to ship. Usually takes 15 to 20 min to go through check in and get aboard, our room is ready so we drop carry on and proceed to start vacation. I have never flown in so I don't know how it would be. We use self debarkation and walk off the ship get on shuttle to parking load luggage and are usually crossing the bridge going home by 8am. You do have to be prepared for what ever way you are leaving and expect waits if you leave later or have to wait on taxi etc.

Freeport

Bahamas are not good ports to explore suggest another itinerary for families wanting shore time. Prices higher here and towns are dirty and very commercial.

Nassau

Bahamas are not good ports to explore suggest another itinerary for families wanting shore time. Prices higher here and towns are dirty and very commercial.
