We are experienced cruisers so had reasonable expectataions and we were looking forward to trying NCL. We were very disappointed with most parts of the cruise and would never return to NCL. We actually disembarked early rather than endure the cruise any further.
The service, with the exception of our cabin attendent, was consistently poor- much worse than any other cruise line we previously enjoyed. We learned the standard answers from the staff were "I don't know" and "not my job" and that we should not any real help from guest services, shore excursions or the cruise director staff. The cruise director only came to life when he could embarass and humilate cruisers- especially the older ones- rest of the time he just phoned it in with minimal interest. His staff may have been good at partying and dance lessons, but lacked the language skills to read trivia questions. The biggest disappoint was the food which we hoped would be a highlight. The only decent speciality restuarant was Le Bistro. Others had ordinary food with consistently poor service. The buffet was the worst ever seen- like a Golden Corral or other cheap chain. Food literally made us sick until we learned to avoid the overcooked dried out stale offerings
