This cruise was the first for my husband and me. We attended due to my husband's business convention. Flying into Miami from Los Angeles, we stayed near the airport. Cruise sign-in (at the airport) and embarkation (thanks to Faster to the Fun) went off without a hitch. If we do Carnival again, FTTF is a feature we look forward to using again. Additionally, travel to the port of Miami was trouble-free. We took a taxi with a flat free of $27 from the airport. After some people watching, we were on our way.

Overall, we encountered good service, although the Sea Day activities were rather run of the mill and didn't interest either one of us during the day; however, the Dive-In movies were a great feature. Our room steward and waiters served good and we were happy to have them with us. Having food at our disposal caused happy weight gain without any complaints (especially from the steakhouse and Guy's Burgers). As for our room, the cabin was beautiful and more spacious than we assumed (Balcony Room 7211 8C). We loved watching the water each morning and watching the stars at night. Furthermore, the cleanliness and turn-down service made us feel comfy.

As for the shore excursions, we loved Grand Cayman, and while Jamaica and the Dunn's River Falls were beautiful, we'd pass next time. On board, we enjoyed two shows: Motor City and Epic Rock, which knocked our shoes off. Great fun. Sadly, it came to an end but fast disembarkation made our leaving better.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

Pros: Spacious, clean, wonderful balcony, quiet most times

Cons: A rule about roaming kids and teens without parental supervision must be put in place (especially about children in rooms away from their parents - not a good idea).

Port Reviews

Miami

Quick trip (about 20 minutes) from the airport to the port of Miami for a flat fee of $27. Fast embarkation and disembarkation (thanks to Faster to the Fun).
