We saved our money for one year to take this 14 day cruise for our 10 year anniversary. The cruise was $3,500 for us two for a concierge suite (which was super dinky and unimpressive). We flew out of Miami and the ONLY fun time was Florida before and after the cruise! The ship was really boring, the talent was terrible except the 2 main female singers were decent, the house band was UN-BEARABLE. The lead singer was an Asian woman who must have had pretty broken English because she slaughtered every cover tune. The music was limited, so the house band would go from venue to venue. We couldn't get away from her! They did have a good jazz quartet that played every night sort of a Sinatra vibe. The average age was probably 70 and we are both 54. Suffice it to say, lots of wheelchairs and walkers. We didn't know it would be such a senior trip but maybe that is the target age of people who can take a 14 day vacation-I don't know. They had lame activities, the food was TERRIBLE, let me repeat-TERRIBLE. The dinners were about a 5 out of 10 but the other food was a 1 or 2. The only tolerable thing on our whole cruise was our porter, Micheal, and our waiter, Bonzi from Indonesia. This was our 9th cruise and our 1st AND LAST time on Celebrity. The excursions were crazy expensive, about $100 per person per day, so that was another $1,200. There is no quality control re: the excursions, i.e. our 6 hr snorkeling catamaran had a broken radio so NO music the whole time. It seems like someone should be keeping an eye on the quality of the excursions. It was nice that every port was on land and no tender boats were required for the entire cruise. We asked to get OFF on the very first day when we knew we were going to hate it. The Asst Mgr said we were "jumping the gun. Wait til the activities start tomorrow!". We were shocked to hear the ship was 5 years old. There was no grand atrium with a baby grande, no topless deck, no pool table, no disco, and the pool area was a joke. It was so small, the chairs would fill up by 11am. We literally were unable to lay out at the pool one day! People would lay their towels down and go eat and you never knew if they were coming back. The wireless service was $349 so we could check in with our kids and work every day. My husband bought a soft drink/bottled water card (because neither one of us drink) and it was $280. When we checked out, we were shocked that our sign & sail card was an additional $3,300. We figured that with our flights from SFO and cruise, it was over $10,000! If we had known that, we would have gone to the Atlantis in the Bahamas, but it was going to be $9,000 and we couldn't justify it. Jokes on us!!!
