My sister and I debated taking a smaller ship, but loved the ports of call, so finally decided on Legend of the Seas. Over all it was a good cruise. Being a smaller ship, we felt the rocking quite a bit, especially when we got in rough winds the first two days. Quite a few sick passengers! But the rest of the trip we had amazing weather. Definitely love 11 days over 7!!
Crew and staff were excellent! Our evening waiter in dining room was so much fun, as was our assistant waiter. I really like the early seating for dinner and wish they would have more seats available for that rather than going more for the 'my-time dining'. It's so much fun getting to know your table mates and building a relationship with your main waiter.
Our room steward was extremely attentive to our needs - making us feel like we were his only concern. He greeted us every morning and evening and always was so happy and helpful. It's amazing to me how these people work SO hard 7 days a week for weeks on end and ALWAYS have a smile on their face and greet you with grace. We don't realize how easy we have it compared to other people around the world!!
Cabin seemed a bit small from other cruises we've taken, but that was fine cuz we weren't in our cabin much anyways. Bathrooms are REALLY small!!! Hated the shower curtain - wish they would put in the pull-around door. The shower is way too small, even for a small person, and the curtain constantly stuck to you. Had issues with the A/C not cooling down enough the first few days, but maintenance finally got it working.
Didn't take an excursion. Stayed at Sonesta hotel on the beach and would highly recommend it. Rooms weren't big, but every room had an ocean view! Staff was very nice. Would definitely stay there again!
Did our own tour - scuba diving. Great beach area. Driver picked us up and took us back to ship. They were so great and accommodating. Did some shopping around the port.
Again, did our own scuba arrangements. Island was so peaceful, beaches seemed more quiet than some islands. Not so touristy....would love to come back to Bonaire, for sure!
We hired our own driver and let him take us to the 'real life' of the people of Grenada. He shared so much about the history of the Island and was great! He took us to a friend's house where the lady shared so much info about all the spices of the Islands. He then drove us around to see where the different spice trees grow in the wild. Loved the people of Grenada!
Another scuba trip booked on our own with The Dive Shop. Great people....we dove with them 3 years ago as well. Saw turtles swimming just off shore and they came up so close to us!
Hired our own driver and drove around the island for a few hours. Ended up at a beach that our driver took us to and we enjoyed fresh coconut water/mean right on the beach that one of the local guys cut open for us!
