Embarkation went smoothly and but we had to wait to drop off our small bags as cabins were not ready. When they were ready we checked our room and settled in for a moment. A crew member was delivering strawberries and champagne but he skipped my cabin and disappeared. I had ordered Strawberries for my wife and was not happy we got overlooked as I had prepaid for them. A call to room service and they delivered them that night. Better late than never.

The Cruise had the specialty restaurants package so we made reservations at different ones every night repeating our favorites. Poor service at the Brazilian steakhouse led us to leave early. We were offered sausage twice, fish and lamb once, (I refused both as I wanted steak) and when finally steak arrived it was so salty and spiced heavily I didn't finish it. This was not the filet minion, but a cheaper cut. Meanwhile waiters were serving tables all around us other dishes roasted pineapple and choice cuts of beef, walking right past us even though we had green markers up, meaning serve us. we left before desert was offered. the head water called my cabin to apologize later that night Though I made no complaint.

The waitress in the signature steakhouse brought my wife the 8 ounce steak she ordered the 5 ounce, she was very specific with her and when my steak arrived the same size as hers I thought I got the 5 ounce also so I was not happy. The AC went out in the Italian restaurant and they tried to get us to cancel but we had no other choice but to go to the main dining room so we stayed. They seated us near the ovens, nice touch! they had open seats out on the rear balcony. The menu at the reservation desk was different than the one in the Chinese restaurant. I spent the next 3 days getting this corrected after mentioning it to the head waiter and senior staff and seeing they did nothing to correct the issue. The breakfast staff in the rear dining room called us by name and ensured my wife had a window when available.

Cabin OG

As we explored the ship my wife's bag made it to the cabin, and I popped in to see if my bag had, it had not. The cabin steward introduced himself to me and said he would skip the nightly turndown since I was in the cabin, I tried to tell him I was leaving for dinner but he disappeared as fast as the strawberry man. This set the tone for his work or lack of the rest of the cruise. I have been on 20 or more cruises with 4 different lines. This was the worst cabin steward I ever had. He left the shower drain out leaning against the wall 4 days of the 10 day cruise. He did not leave mints or turn down the beds and the floors were not vacuumed clean on several days. I know because the electrician had to replace the light over the vanity and he left stripped wires all over the vanity and floor. The next day the light failed again the repairs done again and more trash was left. After 3 days I struck the light with my hand and it worked the rest of the cruise. The TV was small 13 -15 inches. The toilet area left me with my knees against the wall and getting up required the use of the handicapped bar and a difficult turn to flush maneuver to exit.

Port Reviews

Martinique

Briefly explored city then we took the ferry for $10 right near dock Round trip to the beach. This is the best thing to do unless your a history major of early sea battles and such.

Antigua

Our ship docked in the deep water harbor, away from other cruise ships. We got a free ride to main shopping area and back. Very poor Island stay in tourist groups for safety, one person had their cell phone stolen

by strong armed bandits. You can see the poverty as soon as you leave the docks.

Miami

We live in Florida, I would not visit Miami at Gunpoint. Too much traffic, I want a peaceful vacation. and visiting swamps is not my thing. They barely speak English here anyway.
