Although we have now done five cruises, this was our first on Celebrity. We chose it because of the embarkation point and the Ports of Call (three of the five were all new to us).

Embarkation: The process was extremely smooth. The ship didn't sail until 8:30 pm so we didn't have to be on board until 7 pm. We boarded at 5 pm. We proceeded immediately to our room to drop off our carry-on bags and then went up to the buffet for something to eat. We did a bit of exploring and then returned to our room around an hour or so later - our checked-in luggage was already waiting outside our door.

Dining: The previous cruises we have done have been "free-style" so we opted for the "Select Dining" on this cruise. We had booked 6:30 pm as our dining time for each night prior to the cruise as that timing fit in perfect with our schedule. There was never any wait, our table was always ready. On two nights we opted for the buffet for supper instead of the main dining room. We had the same table and staff each night in the main dining room. They were extremely friendly and personable. Every night they would ask how our day went in the applicable port and if we had mentioned what we had planned the evening before, they actually remembered and asked how it went. When you consider just how many people they must wait on during the course of a day - to remember what we had said is quite a feat.

Cabin Review

Inside Stateroom 12

We have always taken inside cabins since we do not spend anytime in the cabin other than to sleep or to change our clothes - we chose to spend our money on other things other than spending it on an upgraded cabin. That being said, this was probably the most comfortable inside cabin we have had. We found it to be quite roomy for our needs with plenty of closet and storage place. We also liked the fact that we could request to have our mini-fridge emptied out on the first day of our cruise so we could use it to put our own items in. We never got a chance to actually meet our cabin maid but she certainly did a wonderful job of straightening it up and providing clean towels. In fact we joked that she must have been hiding around the corner waiting for us to leave because it seemed that if we left the room in the morning and we went back for any reason an hour later the room was done. The same for the turn down service in the evening - and I looked forward to our little towel animals every night.
