This was my 4th HA cruise and traveling partner's first. The Westerdam is a good size vessel (not too large) and easy to get around. There were plenty of activities to take advantage of and the Dancing With the Stars feature was a great way for passengers to either participate or just watch. Watching the Oscar Awards on a large screen in one of the theaters was a neat perk. There was a staff person who organized a singles/solo travelers group and we enjoyed participating. We had no complaints with the service in our cabin as well as the dining room and thoroughly enjoyed our meals in the different venues on the ship. (We did not eat in the specialty restaurant.) We enjoyed open seating in the dining room at night as it gave us an opportunity to visit with a variety of passengers. This was a R & R vacation so we did not take any excursions offered. Exploring San Juan on our own was very easy as there is a city shuttle (no charge) which goes to the forts and circles the downtown area. The water at Grand Turk is beautiful but St. Thomas was disappointing as it was very crowded with several ships in port and the merchants stood outside their shops and on the streets trying to get customers. The ship entertainment provided some good and not so good shows but it is hard to please everyone's taste. The only disappointment is that the meeting scheduled for those connecting on Cruise Critic was scheduled so early on embarkation day that some had not even arrived on ship. Will not hesitate to sail on Westerdam again.

Cabin Review

Standard Interior Stateroom

We had an inside cabin and did not feel cramped. Since this was not a long cruise we knew we would be spending little time in the cabin.
