Pre arrival: We stayed Friday night at the Hilton on Biscayne Blvd. It was a chore for over 4 hours to get a wheelchair accessible van from the hotel. From the airport, it was smooth. But from the hotel to the pier for our 4 pm departure was truly hell. Yellow Cab, Super Yellow Cab, Flamingo Taxi, USA Taxi was inconsistent and lied by saying "give me 15 minutes" since 8:30 am. Everytime you called for an update, they said something different. Finally, a cab driver and my husband had put the wheelchair in in the back of a van and made due to not miss our ship. Norwegian could not provide assistance since we did purchase thru them.
Embarkation: This was smooth and very welcoming. No long lines and we arrived about 1:30 pm. Remember we went thru the disability/assistance line. Once on the ship, they gave champagne and orange juice for free.
The room: the size was large and good for having a wheelchair. We brought an extension cord so he can charge the wheelchair at night. The bathroom was excellent and large. I did notice some dust bunnies in the corners and fixtures in the room. The curtains did have what appeared to be sun rot. There were holes in them from extreme exposure or a meal bug.
across from the electrical room and the crew slammed the door constantly! Great bathroom and room size. Obstructed view.
