My husband and I travelled to San Juan with our 2 daughters and my parents. We took the taxi from the airport to our hotel, and it cost $29.00 (plus tip) for all 6 of us. We met up with my parent's friends at the hotel (Hotel Milano in Old San Juan). The hotel's dEcor was somewhat dated, but the rates were good, the rooms were clean, and the location was excellent. We spent the afternoon shopping, and walking Old San Juan. We found a nice local place within walking distance for dinner, and then took another walk. The next morning we found a great place for breakfast called La Bombonera, and we went to El Morro & San Cristobal (the 2 forts in Old San Juan). They were both definitely worth seeing, but most of us preferred El Morro. We had to check out of the hotel by 11:00, but the hotel held onto our baggage for us, and called us a cab when we were ready to go to the ship. The taxi from the hotel to the ship was $30.00 (plus tip) for the 8 of us with our many bags.
Embarkation went very quickly and smoothly. There were no problems at all. We all got onto the ship quickly, and our bags were delivered to our rooms before dinner. We had an ocean view room, and our girls were directly across the hall from us, with my parents were right next door to the girls. The rooms were all ready, and were very clean. There is plenty of room in the staterooms for 2 people, but I wouldn't suggest trying to cram 4 people into one room. We were very glad that we got a second room for the kids.
The ship is BEAUTIFUL. Need I say more?
