This was our first cruise, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the Pearl. Everything was new, clean and stylish. Rooms (we had a balcony room) were well appointed, tons of nooks & crannies for storage, bathrooms were bigger than what you'd find in European hotels! Beds were EXTREMELY comfy with down comforters and plenty of pillows. Very functional. Fitness center was bigger than expected, +/- 10 ellipticals, maybe 10-12 treadmills, 4 bikes plus free weights and machines. Spa was AMAZING - definitely do the $75 package that allows you to visit and use the facilities everyday. Great spa pool with jets, sauna, steam, two large soaking tubs with jets, heated tile curvy lounge chairs, and a bank of windows to watch the sunset.

Food was pretty good. Buffet was huge and had lots of variety. Italian restaurant was good except for the pizza and desserts (spongy canoli - yuck). Teppanyaki was the best meal we had.

Shore excursions: in Honduras, we found Santewellnesscenter.com, a day spa owned and operated by an ex-pat San Francisco couple who are as charming as can be. Pricing was amazingly cheap, services were heavenly. Best day of the whole cruise. In Belize City we did the Lamanai tour through NCL. Excruciatingly slow over flooded roads and then a flooded river in a boat that didn't work properly, but once we arrived it was amazing. Didn't bother to get off the boat at the private Cay - too crowded, nothing to do if you're already sunburned.

GREAT cabin, very quiet, toward the front. Lots of closet space, shelves and under-bed space for our huge suitcases.
