CB is better the second time around.

This was our third cruise with Princess and our second time sailing on the Caribbean Princess. We are a family of 4 and prefer cruising over land vacations because you are constantly moving and there is something for everyone to do what ever your interests are. Standing in line at an amusement park for 2 hours in the blistering heat for a 30 second ride is not our idea of fun. Embarkation We arrived in San Juan at 11:30am. We retrieved our luggage and met the Princess Representative for our transfer to the ship. A week prior to leaving members of my roll call were mentioning that Princess had emailed telling them not to come to the dock for check in until 4:00pm. I never received any notification so I just proceeded as planned. We boarded the Princess Transfer Bus at around 12:30pm. When everyone was seated the bus driver announced that he would be taking us on a tour of San Juan. At first I thought that we were on the wrong bus because I didn't reserve an excursion for San Juan. But, the driver confessed that Princess was not ready for us yet. Thank you Princess for the free tour, we didn't have plans to see San Juan so this was a bonus. We drove around town and the bus driver gave us facts about Puerto Rico, pointed out government buildings, beaches and other tourist attractions. We stopped at the fort for an hour and took a tour. We arrived at the dock at around 3:30pm and it took about 25mins to check in and board the ship.

The Stateroom We had a balcony stateroom mid ship on the Baja deck. This was the perfect location. It was cabin B422 and it was located by the panoramic lifts. We really enjoyed being mid ship because it was a convenient location from any part of the ship. There were 4 of us in the room myself, my wife and our two teenage sons. We wanted to book a mini suite but at the time of booking nothing was available. The sleeping accommodations were as followed. Two twin beds formed a queen size bed, one single bed dropped from the ceiling and a cot was brought in as the forth sleeping arrangement. You make think that this sounds crowded. You are correct. However, since the four of us were only in the room together to sleep it wasn't a problem. The nice thing about traveling with teenage sons is that they are never around and they don't require a lot of bathroom time. Over all, Ding our steward always managed to keep our room organized, clean and there were always towels and soap available.

Cabin Review
