Carnival Conquest Cruise Review by Russ D: Rough seas

This is my 6th cruise. The Conquest is huge and takes a lot of walking. Bigger is not always better.
The promenade deck got jammed with ships photographers and made it impossible to get around at times. It seems that Carnival wants to sell a lot of photos to make ends meet.
We have noticed the entertainment quality has gone down hill over the years. The guests were the entertainment!! Carnival is doing away with the classical and jazz music as of this January. This is so sad. The show bad was not an "Orchestra" it was a septette (7) members. They are always great however, they are a blend of live and recorded music( sound tracks ) The food has improved. The service was great.
There was NO midnight buffet as advertised? We went to relax and we did even if the seas were NOT friendly on this cruise.
Fuel charges are high while the price per barrel is down? We are charged for 7 days of fuel while the first day you use none until the ship More leaves, however, the past guests paid for the same fuel. The same things for the day you return.(6 am) I am questioning this extra bite out of your wallet. Double dipping!!!
Ships officers were not seen at all by us for the entire trip? We had a balcony stateroom and it was just perfect. The service was excellent. Dining room food and service was also great.
We went to a lounge to hear a band and the staff was louder than the band. They were re setting the room for a tea later that afternoon. They also made it non smoking during the bands performance. Personally I felt the staff was rude to the band and the guests.
Disembarkation process was the BEST we have ever had. Less
