This was our first ever cruise and we travelled as a family 43,42,17 and 14.(2 boys) We picked the ship because it seemed to have everything we would have wanted especially all the activities on board. This is our review...
We joined the ship in Miami after a bit of a nightmare journey via JFK due to cancelled flights with Delta airlines. Our first view of the Freedom was on the coach from the airport as we came into the docks, what a size! she was berthed with several other cruise ships and really stood out.
We then went through the check in procedure, because of travel problems we had been on the go for nearly 24 hours so we politely declined the welcome on board photo! The check in itself was well organized and took about 25 minutes. We were then allowed on board and made our way to the 'Windjammer' for our welcome buffet. Now we have read some criticism about the Windjammer and it being referred to as 'The people Jammer' Well our opinion is Yes of course it is busy but what do you expect, the food quality is very good and the choice extensive. Tables near the windows are a bit more sought after but the whole place is efficient, well organized and tables are quickly cleared to allow other diners. You can get tables for 2 up to perhaps 8 so no problems there.
