My wife and I booked our Imagination cruise back in April. We had cruised on this ship before its renovation, and this was to be our third time on this itinerary (Key West and Cozumel). Both have been favorites of ours to go to, and Cozumel had been destroyed by Hurricane Wilma shortly before our last time going there.

We first stayed overnight at the Hilton Airport at Minneapolis on Saturday night. They had a rate that allowed us to leave our car there while we were gone, and was actually cheaper than the nearby "park and fly" facilities. We also then did not have to get up early to drive to the airport. We flew Sunday morning from Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale. With the recommendation of several CC members, we contacted Steve from SAS Transportation about a shuttle from FLL to Holiday Inn POM. He told us to call him when we had our luggage at FLL, and he would pick us up. He was there within 5 minutes of our calling him. He picked us up and gave us good conversation for our drive to Miami. We were his only clients on this transport, so it was just us, and the drive only took 20-25 minutes.

As stated before, we stayed at the Holiday Inn POM. We have stayed there before our previous Miami cruises, and have always been happy there. Reading recent reviews of the hotel, though, we weren't sure what to expect. We were very happy with the hotel, again, though. From the time we entered the doors, there was staff there to assist us with our luggage, holding doors, and pointing us where to go. We were very happy to find out that our room had been upgraded from their standard room to a larger room with a couch, two chairs, a coffee table, and a fridge and microwave. We also were now on the 8th floor overlooking Bayside Marketplace and the marina. While you can hear passing traffic from the road below, I didn't think it was any different than any hotel near a main road. They were in the process of some remodeling, so areas like the pool were not accessible, but for only one night, it was great. We went over to Bayside for dinner and munched our way through a few different places, rather than eating at only one. We were then able to sit back and enjoy the music at their outdoor stage. It was a very relaxing evening.
