I don't even know where to begin. This was suppose to be our romantic honeymoon and best vacation of our lives. Royal Caribbean did not come highly recommended but I decided to book anyway seeing as how the ports of call were everywhere I wanted to visit. NY to Barcelona 7 night cruise and two extra night in Barcelona at a 5 star hotel. This was my first cruise so I didn't know to compare this ship with other ones. We called Royal Caribbean and booked air, cruise and hotel fare with them, because we were told that when you book everything with them you get the best price. The whole trip came out to about $6,000 not including extra stuff like excursions and packages. I booked this trip from October of 07 for October of 08. I was told that I wouldn't get all the information until a month before leaving. Living in New York I knew that we would not have a problem getting a non stop flight, but to my disappointment Royal Caribbean had us on a connecting flight to France then Barcelona for $400 more per ticket than with just going non stop. I had to find my own airfare and call them to cancel the one they had booked. A little annoyed I began to ask questions and go over everything, and I was told to look at their web site and log in. Does that sound like good service so far? My brother in law paid $800 for us to have some Ultimate romance package added to our room. The woman on the phone with Royal Caribbean said that upon arrival we would find our room with a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, roses, two bath robes and roses petals and a towel sculpture on the bed. With a sign saying happy honeymoon. We walked into a room with two bath robes thrown on the couch, and that's it. I called up the stateroom attendant who took an hour to figure out everything about my package. Her reply was ok just wait for it, and she hung up the phone. We walked into out room on deck 8, at 1:30 at 2:30 some guy came to give us our package booklet at 3pm a bottle of champagne and three strawberries came and everything else came after that. Still no sign, no rose petals on the bed not even an apology! After being asked the year before about dinner arrangements I picked the private table for two at the second seating at 9:30 pm. Well on the first night as soon as we got there we found ourselves on a table of eight of which 4 chairs belonged to 4 bratty crying kids. I quickly went to the man in charge, and all he said was "complaints go downstairs to the manager I can't help you". At this point I was ready to get off the ship I was so appalled by the service and all the mistakes. The manager had a different story than the lady on the phone who told me about the package, she said that our ship did not do rose petals on the bed our towel sculptures(which was a lie, I saw it in other rooms) then gave me a fake sorry and said that she would personally see to it that by the next day we would have a card in our room with our new seating arrangement and a phone call. The next day came and went with nothing. I wasn't going to spend another 45 minutes on line to complain so I called only to be left on hold for 20 minutes!! Still nothing. We never got to eat in the dinner room. We just ordered room service through out the whole cruise. Which they made mistakes on each and every time!

Next... our package came with a spa service for two that we weren't supposed to pay for but were charged for anyway. So we had to waste more time sorting that out... Next, on the last day... even though we booked our hotel with them they still had our luggage going to the airport(supposedly their records were never updated, lie!). I called the front desk waiting another 15 minutes for someone to pick up. I was told to come down stairs for the correct luggage tags, after waiting on line AGAIN!!!! The girl at the front desk didn't know what I was talking about. After spending I don't know how much time on that we were told to fill out our evaluation form, only to go to our room and not find one there, having to return once again to deck 5 to front desk to get one. The elevators took forever, the cleaning of our state room was inadequate, there were children and teens running around the ship like crazy, the halls stunk of an odd odor, and the ship was very noisy. Not enjoyable not relaxing not anything but a disappointment. Seriously I've had better service at a two star hotel that I had to stay at for a business trip. not to mention their Internet was slower than dial up and opening on email took 15 minutes and they charged $.55 a minute. This ship was such a disappointment, it was utterly the worst trip I've ever been on, ever.
