We sailed on the Carnival Legend on Oct 26th. I believe that you get great value for your money with Carnival. I do lots of business travel, but I believe that my cruise on Carnival was superb! Here is my review:
Embarkation: I felt that this could have been handled better. This is not the fault of Carnival, but rather the Port of Tampa. They need to improve the flow by placing more metal detectors rather than having one working metal detector!! People were going out the front doors of the terminal, and the line went all over the place it seemed. It took us about 90 minutes before we got to the carnival checkin desk. We arrived at 12:00 noon and got to the checkin desk at 1:30. We were on board a few minutes after that.
Cabin: We chose the 6A Category (ocean view stateroom) which I believe was a TBA cabin. We didn't get our cabin assignment until 2 days before the cruise. However we did get an upgrade to 7A - which was a balcony stateroom, partially obstructed view. Its not bad at all, you still get a good view of the ocean. The stateroom was very comfortable, we slept well and the cabin storage was more than ample!! We felt that the cabin was very comfortable, and very nice, and very quiet.
