Embarkation was delayed due to a sanitizing procedure resulting from a Noro virus on the previous sailing. Cruisers were handed a letter while on line that explained that they would have the choice of rescheduling with full credit. Once on board, we went for lunch while the rooms were being sanitized. Fortunately, we were on board in sufficient time to eat in the main dining room as toting luggage and food while searching for a room is tough.
The Jewel is a beautiful and well laid out ship. Bars and lounges are so open that you enjoy the entertainment even if you are just passing by. The theater has great seating for viewing from almost anywhere. Which is good as we had the usual "I am saving these 10 seats" kind of cruisers.
Entertainment was good but not great. Bud Anderson, the comic was the best entertainer. All three of his shows were standing room only. NCL is known for their Jean Ann Ryan dance troupe. The team on the Jewel did not live up to their counterpart on other NCL ships. People left the last show, a circus like show, saying it was the best because they did very little singing!
