The Sky is a beautiful ship, the service was top notch and the food was very good.
Admittedly, the cabins are smaller than most, but they are perfectly adequate for the 3 and 4 night Bahamian cruises. The additional balcony space was very welcome though. The shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, soap, etc. were high quality. Also included lip balm, moisturizer and eye cream.
The public areas of this ship are beautiful and beautifully maintained. Best of all the ship never seemed crowded (even though we had been told it was full).
Entertainment was just OK. The comic really wasn't all that funny and the stage productions were enjoyable but not memorable.
Although we had heard the food on the ship was not very good, everything we had was tasty and perfectly prepared and served. We did Cagney's ($25 upcharge) the first night and it was worth every penny. The rest of the time we ate breakfast and lunch at the buffets and dinner at Crossings. Both food and service were top notch. Portions were on the smallish side which was fine for us, but might not have been for a more hearty appetite.
Since NCL imposes a $10 per person per night "fee" to cover your gratuities, we wondered if service would suffer due to lack of incentive. It wasn't a problem at all. We never met our room steward, but we had great service, towel animals and a full ice bucket all the time; never had to ask, not even once!
Dining room staff was equally attentive. It was so nice not having to deal with gratuity envelopes!
...and best of all was the "Freestyle" cruising. We loved NOT having to be in the dining room at a specific time and we loved NOT having to sit with people we didn't know.
All in all, it was a wonderfully relaxing cruise with top notch service and very good food.
