We are just back from a 12 day land/cruise tour on RCI's Celebrity Millennium. On a scale of 1 to 10, we'd put this experience at about 8.5 to 9.0. In short, fantastic value for our investment in time and treasure. But, there are enough "watch outs" in a late season trek to Alaska that we thought we'd share them with you. And, we thought we'd throw in our perspective on some of the side trips we took. There were 10 of us on this trip, and we'd spent over a year planning and discussing the arrangements.

First, the flights. All we can say is that in this age of declining airline service, if you choose to book as far in advance as we did, CHECK YOUR FLIGHTS OFTEN. Of five couples (Father and Mother; four children and their spouses), five itineraries (100%) were changed multiple times. Each time the airline chose to change a flight, our seats together changed. Usually to middle seats in the back of the aircraft. It was as if someone who enjoyed picking the wings off flies as a kid was in charge of rebooking. One couple even had a connection rescheduled such that the second leg departed an hour before the first leg was scheduled to arrive! Folks, it's a long flight to Anchorage or Fairbanks (the two places you pick up this kind of tour), and it pays to visit www.seatguru.com before departing and make sure you aren't stuck in the worst seat on the plane.

Enough of that - once Celebrity took over, things got much, much better!

Cabin Review

Concierge class cabin not much different (if any different) from regular cabins. Nice, but worth the upcharge.
