My wife and I waited 39 years to take a honeymoon, retirement, major cruise. After many years of looking we decided to go with the Regent cruise line. The main reason was the itinerary. We wanted to see as many islands that we could in 2 weeks. With Regent we were able to see 9 different islands. We were the first to book on the ship. We booked over a year and a half in advance. We booked room 318 which was dead center of the ship on the third floor. The room was great and it even had a bathtub.

We left LA in the afternoon and arrived in Papeete at 6:15 in the evening. We were met at the LA airport and also in Papeete. We flew through the airport and were on a bus to the ship in less than a hour. Upon arrival at the ship we were met by an adorable lady named Dione who was the cruise director. It took about 5 minutes to get all of the stuff we needed to go to our room. We were escorted to our room and our luggage was already there in the room. We unpacked and went to dinner at 8:00.

Though it was a long day is was not a problem for either my wife (59) or myself (60). I guess that's because we live in the LA area. I am sure that the people who came from Ontario, Canada would not agree with me. There were 50 Doctors on board and 57 divers. There was one honeymoon couple approx. (30), one 8 year old and 1 2 year old. The average age was probably 58. Most of course were young at heart!
