We were on our first cruise together, and we felt that the Sun provided all we could ask for and more. We had a penthouse suite, and felt the service was impeccable, in the main dining rooms and in the specialty restaurants (we had a waitress named Valentina in Il Adagio that made fantastic recommendations and did an incredible job).
I'm not sure if ppaxton expects to be pampered more or what, but everyone from the concierge, Ray, to the butlers, Amit and Randy, to the room stewards and the wait staff were tremendous. I'll admit I wouldn't know the difference between a red wine glass and a white wine glass, so that wasn't a big deal to me. All I think you can ask on a cruise is that they are courteous and the ship is very clean. Both of these happened.
Drawbacks: the ship was kept very warm at all times. That was not good. They also need more entertainment for people in their 20s and 30s. A lot of the activities were geared toward older folks (the "Name that Tune" contest consisted of naming composers of songs from the 30s and 40s). Also, they really get you on the extra charges for drinks, tips, etc.
