Day One

Arrived in Southampton around 10am. Turning the corner and seeing IOS was some experience! Like the biggest block of flats you ever saw! Gleaming in the sun. Awesome. Dropped relatives at pier. Had a bit of an issue finding the hire car place to drop off car but managed that eventually. Climbed into back seat with DD and SIL and approached the car park. 'You got your yellow ticket?' 'Excuse me?' 'You got your yellow car park ticket.... you paid to park here?' 'No we have a letter confirming car space' Show letter. He points. Hmmmmm.

Parked up. Boarding has started. Very easy check in. Get pics taken prior to boarding in front of RCI sign. Straight up to Windjammers. 1130. Great selection of food. Drinks being served continually (water and some sort of cherry squash). Also came round with alcoholic drink of the day.

Cabin Review

Superior Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Thoughts on the room : Some of the TV channels on board tend to be repetitive and show the same thing ad infinitum (The Ricky Nelson story.... the same episodes of Only Fools and Horses.....Porridge). And it seems every time I flick through, the Animal Channel has meerkats. Love the RCI channel itself featuring the building of Voyager and the refit of.... can't remember.... but fascinating. Good movies.

Shower is very small but very powerful. Graham Seymour (CD) did a fine impression of a couple in the shower at last night's Mr & Mrs show. Bathroom is intended for solo use.

Fridge does definitely keep my water nice and cold. Clothes storage..... well.... let's just say I don't mind creases. Safe is very useful. Lots of little cupboards behind mirrors but to be honest the one in the bathroom is adequate for what we brought with.

Balcony is wonderful. Pity no lounger.
