Sail Date: Sep 2008

We just got back from the Destiny. It was her first sailing from Miami after dry dock. We were three couples and we had three cabins, two on lido and one on the spa deck. We live in Miami and had family members drop us off at the port. We have all sailed Carnival before. There were a few things that I did not like; however, I will not let them affect this entire review and will give you both the good and the bad.

Embarkation and Sail Away

We got to the port at around 11:45 am. I was a little disappointed when I saw a huge construction crane and some containers still aboard the ship. We tipped the baggage guys and went inside the terminal. The line was moving steady for a few minutes and then it stopped. It turned out that the Coast Guard had CCL stop the embarkation process until the construction crane and containers were removed. This took about an hour and we were finally on board by 3:30 pm.
