Sail Date: May 2004

Sailed Western Caribbean on the 5th of May. This was our second Princess cruise and 14th cruise overall. We had sailed the Grand last May and had a great cruise, so expectations were very high. Long lines awiting boarding, but once the doors opened it went very quickly.

This is a lovely ship (very similar to the Grand with a great deal of public space. We never really noticed the extra 900 passengers, with the exception of the shows. We chose anytime dining, but spent most of our evenings in the Sterling Steakhouse (wonderful) and Sabatini's. Ate in the dining room two of the evenings and found it to be fair to good. The Horizon Court was moderate at best. We had planned to have the lobster dinner on the deck, but the winds kept us from enjoying our balcony much so decided to cancel this.

The ship seemed to pitch and rock quite a bit for a vessel her size. We had never experienced as much movement as on this ship, but also note that it was extremely windy on this sailing. Our cabin was on the 9th deck (forward) and the noise and vibration from the waves hitting was difficult to deal with for the first couple of nights. The mini-suite was good sized and well appointed with more than ample closet space and a great tub/shower.
