Ship Facts: Carnival Inspiration Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Inspiration Deck Plans
Carnival Inspiration - Western Caribbean
This was my 1st cruise and my husband's 2nd. This was a present from my father in law for our honeymoon. We had a blast. The ship, even with it being an older ship, was is awesome shape (except the elevators had some wear and tear on the doors). It took about a day for us to learn our way around without getting confused, so that wasn't too bad. Our tablemates were the best and we are still keeping in touch with them. We absolutely loved our head waiter and assistant waiter...Vlad and Tiger. They were the best...Vlad is in the Carnivale dining room and is the one that wears the boxing gloves during their performances. He was a hoot and made it fun to go to dinner every night, so we didn't miss a night.

Day 1-We were so exhausted that this day was a blur...our wedding was the day before so we hadn't slept in over 24 hours. We still went to dinner that night, and to the welcome aboard show.

Day 2 (Fun day @ sea)-I laid out in the sun and we bought pics...we got acquainted with the ship and went to dinner and the comedy shows that night. The comedians on this ship are hilarious.

Day 3 (Grand Cayman)-WE did the Stingray sandbar and snorkel. It was the best, you can't go to GC without seeing the sting rays. We then went around the port and bought some Tortuga rum cakes for friends and family at home. That night on the ship, we went to dinner and to the shows again.

Day 4 (Costa Maya)-This was by far my favorite stop...you have to go here before it gets too commercialized. This was an absolutely beautiful stop, as close to Heaven as one can get on land. We went into the fishing village of Mahahual and took school supplies to the schools there. The teacher was so welcoming and the children were so polite....and they were so cute in their uniforms and such. We then ate at Tapas, and talked with a couple from St. Louis that own a resort there that specializes in Scuba diving, so we got the inside scoop about Costa Maya. That night on the ship was the same...dinner and the shows.

Day 5 (Cozumel)- We did the dolphin swim and snorkel....yes it was expensive but well worth it. We walked around Chankanaab for a while then went back to the ship, changed clothes and went into Cozumel to go to Carlos N Charlie's and Senor Frogs. We aren't drinkers so we wished we had stayed @ Chankanaab and snorkeled some more. Now we know. That night on the ship, the water was rough and my husband wasn't feeling well so we went back to the room and he slept.

Day 6 (Belize)-We did the Horseshoe reef snorkel and then also snorkeled with the stingrays and nurse sharks. This was great, but after the excursion, we went into Belize City and we wished we had stayed on the boat. We were very uncomfortable... people were pulling our arms to get us to look at their stands, and our comfort zone was interfered with. We heard that the cave tubing was great, but we wished we would have done the snorkel tour that also took you to Cay Caulker for the day. We heard that was the snorkel tour to do. Same night life as every other night-LOL.

Day 7 (Fun day @ sea)- Pretty much the same as the 1st, except we took the galley tour (a must do) and played the Newlywed and not so Newlywed game. That was a blast. We also did Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. These were all so much fun.

Disembarking -This was not as bad as everyone says. Customs just has to clear the boat, and this leaves you sitting around for a few hours in your predetermined area which is boring. Once cleared, we were the 1st ones off of the ship due to an early flight. We got to the airport in plenty of time. Don't book anything before noon if you can help it.
