Ship Facts: Sapphire Princess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Sapphire Princess Deck Plans
VERY PLEASED
VERY PLEASED WITH THE SAPPHIRE PRINCESS PACIFIC COASTAL CRUISE

OVERVIEW: The Sapphire Princess is a beautiful ship that has one of the best staffs of any cruise we have been on. This was our 15th cruise, the fourth on Princess. We had done this cruise two years earlier on the Sapphire's twin, the Diamond Princess.

EMBARKATION: We arrived at the terminal at 11:00 am with gentlemen handling our luggage at the curb. Security and check in took about 20 minutes with us being on the ship by 11:20. Our room was ready for us at that early hour. How could anyone complain about that?

STATEROOM: We chose an inside cabin on the 10th deck midship. When we arrived, our cabin steward introduced himself to us, and for the entire cruise, he kept our room spotless. Sometimes he seemed invisible, but isn't that the best way?

DINING: We had a group of eight, thus a table that fit all of us perfectly. Our waiter and his assistant did a great job of serving us. The menu was fine and the food was very good. We ate in the dining room most of the time, but the Lido deck buffet was also good for breakfast or lunch. We could always fine a table, even for all eight of us.

ENTERTAINMENT: We felt the production shows were some of the best that we have seen. The singers were super and the dancers were great. Maybe the comedian was a bit weak but he was okay.

PORTS: We enjoyed all the ports even though we had been to all of them previously. We were sorry to miss Victoria, but since we have been through that opening into the inner harbor many times by boat or ship, we understand why the captain chose not to go in. The only negative thing about the ports was the tender service the ship provided. They could have added a couple more tenders to the fleet to speed things up.

DISEMBARKATION: Getting off the ship was quite painless. Once we were cleared it went quite quickly. For the first time, we chose to take our own luggage off the ship. I would say from the time we checked out of the ship, we were out of the terminal in 5 minutes.

CONCLUSIONS: We felt that the Sapphire and her crew gave us a very enjoyable seven days. You could do as much or as little as you could wish. After reading some other reviews, it sometimes seems like we could not possibly have been on the same ship. Maybe some folks should just buy their own ship and hire their own crew to satisfy themselves. We have been on almost all other cruise lines and yes you can find things to knit pick about on all of them. But we were there to have a good time and in at least our group—a good time was had by all.
