Just returned home from a beautiful "sunny side up" Alaskan cruise, and I mean sunny! The locals in the ports, as well as the ship crew stated they hadn't seen sun in over 3 weeks, but being from Phoenix, we must have brought the sun with us, because the weather couldn't have been more beautiful!
My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary, and living in the heat of Phoenix, decided to go somewhere where we could actually wear a jacket! Alaska, was it! We arrived in Seattle a day before the cruise, stayed at the Marriott on Lake Union, and actually walked to dinner with an umbrella to enjoy the best steak ever at Daniels broiler. Yes, it was raining and we loved it, since we hardly ever see rain in Arizona. Yeah!
This was our second cruise, and the absolute best!!! We arrived at port at 11:30, received our room cards, et.al. in about 10 minutes, and were on the boat in about 30 minutes. Perfect way to start! Went to the Lido deck (of course) and began our journey. The room was clean and ready at 1:30 and we began our peaceful journey with a glass of wine on our balcony and then Bon Voyage! Life couldn't be better!
Nice room, good storage space, bathroom a little too small to my liking, beds and linens phenomenol.
