We just got back from our 7 day western caribbean cruise. It was amazing and we were not disappointed. We cruised and flew down with another couple (just the 4 of us) This was our 7th Carnival cruise and are looking towards turning platinum. We flew into FLL from Buffalo on the friday morning (the 12th)direct with Southwest. No problems there, as we like Southwest. Hotel: Villas at Doral(Marriott)was the best room (we had a suite)we have ever had. The wife searched alot & booked early and got us a super deal as it is usually very expensive there. We were spoiled there and will probably have a hard time returning to regular hotel rooms in the future. The Ship:The Valor was amazing and did not disappoint. It was very clean and remained so during the week. Staff was constantly cleaning.Room stewards were great , kept our cooler full of ice all week & made (and saved) all of our towel animals all week. They put them side by side neatly on the couch with the monkey hanging from the roof .It was the 1st time we had 6 towel animals together. Good job Augustino ! The Food : The food was very good as were the buffets. We went to the dining room all but 1 night. Service was great and very fast. I did miss the singing maitre D (Ken) we had on the Freedom though. Ours on the Valor was a little boring by comparison (friendly, just not entertaining). The Ports: We went to GC and the 4 of us did the Stingrays which was alot of fun. Then off to Roatan for some ziplining which again was very fun. We did it with Victor Bodden which was very safe and well organized. Then over to Belize where we just did some local shopping and beer drinking as the cavetubing was cancelled due to heavy rains a few days earlier. This was announced on the ship but then learned that it was on again when we got there.(We chose not to take any chances and just shopped). From there we went to Cozumel where the 4 of us went to Nacchi CoCum (something like that anyhow) where we hung out out the beach and swim up bar. This was a great excursion that not too many people know about. Check it out if you like to drink alcohol (they also feed you). As for the rest of the stuff, all was okay.Karaoke was fun, shows were good and the ventriloquist was very funny. Embarkation took about 1.5 hours total til we were on the ship. Did the self-assist for disembarking and were off the ship by 8:30. The hallways during disembarking were very crowded and custom lineups were long but getting off is never as fun as getting on anyhow. The ocean was as calm as any cruise we have ever been on. The weather was sunny & hot through out the week. The tenders into GC & Belize were also fast and on very calm waters. Belize is a little longer of a tender but the tender boats there were faster and better. All in all ,we all had a great cruise and can't wait to go back.I'm sure there are things i forgot but can't think of them right now. There was also a 100 year old man on board who was in amazing shape who actually drank beer and was quite mobile. Hope i'm like that in 56 years time. Til the next cruise everybody, see ya later.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6C

Oceanview room on the maindeck. Closet space was plenty big enough. Beds were very comfortable. Room location was a little noisy directly across from the laundromatte.(clothes in the dryers made noises clinking & clanking around all day & night) People using the machines kept leaving door to laundry room open .Other than that room was great .
