This was our first Cruise! We chose Carnival for the Itinerary, Price and Military Discount! We had a FANTASTIC time... Everything was wonderful. It was everything and more...
We flew from Albuquerque, NM to Los Angeles, CA the day before the Cruise. We took a Shuttle from LAX to Long Beach (Supper Shuttle) $28.00 for the two of us...with an Entertainment Book Coupon. Supper Shuttle has the worst customer service ever. The Driver was insulting to other passengers and was yelling and demanding payment on pre-paid Service.
We arrived in Long Beach at the Best Western at the Convention Center (Downtown) Long Beach. We checked in and walked to the Aquarium on the Pacific. (Lovely Aquarium) We also hit up Shoreline and Belmont Drive...for shopping and dining. We also took the Passport Free public transportation to these areas. (Fantastic) ?
We woke up and took our time getting ready on Sunday. We took a Cab from the Hotel to the Port of Long Beach $8.75 More
We arrived at the Port and with a little confusion... We handed off our bags to the porters...(There were a lot of passengers) and got in line to check in. We waited about 45-Hour. Checking in was a simple process. We had completed our fun pass online etc... We handed our Birth Certificates and ID's over and Credit Card for the Sail and Sign account. (Simple)
We then made our way to the ship for our first picture. The Ship was amazing! So Exciting! They directed us to the Lido deck for Lunch! We had lunch from the Grill and after we started exploring the ship.
The ship is a Beauty! We were finally off! We found our room and got freshened up for dinner and the first show...
The shows were great the food was good and the customer service was outstanding. We had an inside room and did not mind at all. We are not the type to stay cooped up in the room anyhow. We spent our sea days on the Lido at the pools and hot tubs...and even at the Spa hot tub! There are 3 Swimming Pools and 4 Hot Tubs and even a Children's pool...
Our Waiter WI and Eduardo were great! Very Sweet!
We had two formal nights. Monday and Friday! We got dressed up and took lots of pictures. They were a great deal and Carnival does a fantastic job on there photography. We loved them all and had a hard time picking the ones we liked.
Our first Port- Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta is beautiful! When you arrive there are lots of taxi's and tour guides wanting to offer you tours etc... We would have taken one of them but we had pre-booked our excursions. We booked the Dolphin Swim Adventure through Johann and Sandra's Tours www.puertovallartatours.org it was a bargain... $99 each compared to the ships price of $149-$169 We received our tickets via-email. We took them with us got a cab to Sea Life Park $17.00 each way for the both of us and off we went. It took us about 15-20minutes to arrive. We checked in and waited to be called. I highly recommend this tour. It was SUPER! What an experience! It is something you will never forget...Very exciting. You do the Kiss, Hand Shake, Belly Ride and Boogie Board Foot Push and you even get to hang out in the pool with them. Azteca and Apollo were very cute! I would do it again in a heartbeat! It was AMAZING!
After that we headed over to the NH Krystal to have massages... Per Cruise Critic reviews... We were so excited with the Pool and the ambiance and the Beach View we just stayed at the Pool and hung out. There were lots of Cruise passengers there and Cruise employees there too. It was a wonderful afternoon.
After that we decided to take a tour of downtown and old town Melecon... it was awesome! Puerto Vallarta is very nice and Romantic. We headed back to the ship at about 9:00pm and checked out the shops there at the port and then made our way back to the ship.
Our Second Port- Mazatlan. It was a very rainy (tropical rain) day. Originally we wanted to go to Stone Island on our own but since the weather was not cooperating we decided to take the El Cid time share offer. (When you arrive there are lots of time share reps) We headed on over to the El Cid via there cab ride...We sat in on the 60 min presentation and said no 3x's received our wrist bands for all inclusive at the resort... We went to the El Cid Castilla via the hotel shuttle. Ate lunch (The Best Shrimp Lunch) and Strawberry Pina Coladas and hung out at there Beach and Pool the rest of the afternoon and evening...It was NICE! They also have some great shops there too... We picked up some souvenirs.
We headed back to the ship and hung out on deck 10 and watched Beautiful Mazatlan as we left. It is very pretty!
Our third Port- Cabo San Lucas. Cabo is GORGEOUS!!! OMG!!! It is stunning!!! The weather was Beautiful!!! We were so excited... We arrived at the dock after being tendered in... Hired a Glass Bottom Boat for $30 round trip for the both of us and went for a tour of Los Arcos, Sea Lion Colony, Lover's Beach, Divorce Beach and a stop at the rocks for a look at all of the Beautiful Marine life... There are so many beautiful fish including Clown Fish. It is amazing! Our driver then took us over to Medano Beach. We got down and headed over to a nice Beach Club next to Mango deck... The one we were at was the one with the Cream/Tan umbrellas. It was fantastic! Excellent service. We ordered lunch and took a swim in the beach. Again with lots of colorful fish right at the beach it was breathtaking and so fun. I have never seen that many fish right at the beach not even in Hawaii. It was great! My DH then rented a Wave Runner for one hour for $75 (bargain) and had a blast... We then packed up our backpack and our Glass Bottom Boat came back for us. He then cruised around a bit and let us see the schools of fish... It was great. After he dropped us off we went into the Mercado and bought some souvenirs and headed back to the ship.
We then had one last day at sea and arrived back in Long Beach on Sunday and Debarked. We carried off our own stuff and it was nice and smooth. Very easy! We were off the ship and catching our shuttle to Disneyland by 9:30am.
We had a wonderful time and would do this Cruise in a second. We already started planning our next cruise vacation. It was the best! Less
