My husband and I have not cruised since our honeymoon and this cruise was to celebrate our 16th Anniversary along with my daughter and son-in-law's 25th Anniversary celebration, so needless to say the years have really changed the sailing experience for us. We began our trip with an extremely long flight from Fla to Seattle, we stayed at the TownPlace Suites Seattle Southcenter, a very nice and clean place to rest with wonderful shuttle service anywhere we wanted to go. We used Already There Towncar Service for transportation to the port and again upon our return and was very pleased with the arrival and pick up timing. As we were preparing to board the ship, and due to our upgrade to suites we were escorted to our check in by extremely polite NCL employees and treated like royalty. We met out concierge, "Carlos" who was a perfect gentleman and a true asset to our cruise. First class treatment was all we experienced the entire trip. Our luggage was right on time and we met our butler, "Aris" was a God send. We have never received such wonderful treatment and owed alot of this to these two gentlemen..both true assets to the NCL team. Our suite was beautiful and never once unclean, thanks to our stewards, "Sinclair & Lopez". We interrupted them a few times as they went about their duties until we learned how to use the message monitor on the front door :) We have the most comfortable bed and pillows ever! The sheets and towels were sooooo soft and fresh. We enjoyed daily fruit and snacks a really nice treat. Overall our Suite was more than Perfect!! This was our first also experience in "Freestyle" cruising and we really enjoyed that..I worked in the travel industry many years ago, long before this style of dining was introduced and I can say this is a terrific concept and I would find it hard to go back to "set dining" on any future cruises. The food was fabulous and the service impeccable, never once did we encounter any unfriendly staff and most always had a smile and a friendly greeting whether you were being waited on or just passing in the halls. Very good people. We dined several times at Cagney's and that was our favorite dining area, but enjoyed all the others also. The staff was more than pleasant in all areas from the "Bingo Babes" to the sales staff in the shops, all the way up to the Captain. As he noted to us, "treat them with respect and they in turn will treat you with great service" no truer words from a Captain were ever spoken. I only have one tiny complaint if you could call it that, the coffee was a little to be desired, and would like to see some kind of improvement on that in the future. Thank you NCL PEARL for a fabulous week of truly "First Class" treatment and we will sail with you again hopefully someday.
