I had wanted to go on this cruise so bad because of the food, the service, cleanliness, and the activities. These aspects of this cruise were not at all what I thought they were going to be. I understand I was upgraded to a better room and I appreciate that because I was a past cruiser with carnival, but with that said they should have taken steps to make sure the experience was the same again. Most people return for service if the service is great and the same as they experienced last time. The Room was a nice size, but after that it all went down hill. I paid 26 dollar's for a silver Patron drink on the ship, When they sell the whole bottle for 27 dollars? I'll never understand that. They had a camera in your face every five minutes. There was no midnight Buffet, No Magician, Just Dancers, Dancers, Dancers, and a Comedian that fit the theme of the cruise, a Comedian that usually is seen on B.E.T. TV. telling jokes that were nothing but racially flavored, Please do not miss understand I love a good off color joke about different races, but this guy was offensive at times and none of the jokes were new, all stolen jokes. The pool area looked like a city pool with no supervision. I cruised 3 years ago on "The Inspiration", and security was there to make sure everyone at the pool was behaving so everyone at the pool could enjoy the trip. The pool was full of kids splashing and you could not relax and the parents (not all) seemed to be vacant. The first day of the cruise the music was so loud on the Lido Deck we had to move (the following days were quieter) Our main dining room table was very low down and was empty most days. The main Dining room food was good but not as good as I remember it to be on my other Carnival Cruises. The DVD they sold had fruit carving that you could see at the Midnight Buffet, but they had no Midnight Buffet. It was like they just added it in to the DVD. If there was a Midnight Buffet I did not see it on the itinerary, nor heard any announcements about it. My cabin Steward did not have the room cleaned every time we came back like I have had in the past cruises. Not as many towel animals. I know it sounds petty but when you spend months talking your girlfriend into going, and how great it is. This cruise even for a first time cruiser like herself had nothing to write home about. The ports were nice and getting on and off the ship at the ports was easy. Embarking was better then before, they have improved that. But that was the only thing I could say about the cruise that was better. That, and the luck I had going between two hurricanes. The ship seemed clean, other than the men's room on the Lido Deck by the pool that smelled like an outhouse. Bottom line, I guess you get what you pay for, and if I ever go again on Carnival it will be on a larger ship, that doesn't have a low rent feel to it.

Cabin Review
