We have cruised with Celebrity three times Century Baltic August 2006 Constellation Baltic August 2007 and this cruise Summit Eastern Med August 2008. We were very pleased with the itinerary particularly Villefranche and Santorini. John the cruise director was first rate communicative keeping us well informed. The Celebrity Singers and Dancers worked very hard to keep us entertained and Freddie should be on Broadway. THe children found the magician amazing and asked wa she coming to entertain an a local theatre soon! This is the first time we have cruised concierge class (our last 2 cruises were booked last minute)and we had two linking staterooms because we have three children and this worked very well/Our state room attendant Glory was always to hand when we needed something he had the uncanny ability to be always there when needed. He kept both staterooms clean and tidy throughout the cruise notwithstanding three children! Our waiter Jay was humorous and certainly provided a service with a smile. He is transferring to Solstice so I will try and have him as waiter on our next cruise he was that good unless he receives a deserved promotion to Maitre 'D!! The Normandie Restaurant is not to be missed and certainly worth the nominal supplement for excellent meals service and wine selection as are the Soda Fountain stickers for the children. Any concerns 1.One day the waterfall restaurant ran out of butter. 2.The shower controls in the mens changing rooms near the Aqua Spa need upgrading as a couple were loose. 3.THe televisions in the staterooms need upgrading we had a flat panel television on the Century 2 years ago . 4. THe canapes delivered to our stateroom had very dry bread 5.At Venice Marco Polo Airport you cannot check in for the flights until two hours before departure .Our flight booked through Celebrity was 17.15 hours so very hot long wait in the airport with luggage. As the ship was in port all day Wednesday 27th August 2008 and did not sail until Thursday 28th August it would have been nice to have been allowed to stay on the ship until 1-2p.m after vacating our staterooms for a swim/relax by the pool as opposed to sitting when we could get a seat at Venice Airport. However overall a very enjoyable cruise experience and hopefully to be repeated with Celebrity in the not too distant future looking forward to experiencing Solstice next year.
