Sail Date: Aug 2008

For our honeymoon, my husband and I traveled to Alaska for a 13 day cruise-tour, offered by Princess. After a five-day land tour, we embarked on the Diamond Princess from Whittier.

Most of my past cruises have been on Royal Caribbean ships, although I have cruised Disney, as well. Perhaps RC and Disney have spoiled me so much that I have set the bar unreasonably high, but I was a little disappointed regarding a couple of aspects of the Diamond Princess.

Embarkation (actually the check-in process) was slow and unpleasant, although I will say it was better than the process on ANY of my RC cruises. Disney has this down to an art-form, which Princess and RC could stand to learn from.

Cabin Review

Very large closet with plenty of shelf space. Cabinets offer ample drawer space. Comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Television offered numerous programming options, although we didn't take advantage of them.
