Sail Date: May 2004

My husband and I sailed on MSC Lirica on 5/4/04 for 11 nights to the West Indies. The ship is beautiful and we had a lovely room. The ship is kept very clean. We are not first time cruisers, however, this was our first "european" ship.

The food in the buffet for breakfast and lunch was very good. A large selection and freshly prepared. However, dinner in the dining room was mostly disappointing. The food seemed frozen with the fish overcooked and vegetables mushy and overdone. Pasta and risotto was excellent. Desserts were ho-hum and seemed like a box cake mix. However, the ice cream was very good. If you do not go to the dining room for supper, however, there is no place else to get food. The midnight buffets were nothing special.

The Italian staff was mostly rude and did not seem to welcome Americans. The American hostess was not much help and gave a lot of misinformation. T
