We're a couple in our 70's, who love a good time. This was our 2nd NCL cruise, the first being on the Pride of Hawaii. We were cruising to Alaska with our daughter and her friend.

We flew into Seattle Saturday afternoon. Seattle is a wonderful city with lots to see and do, and in retrospect we would have liked one more day in Seattle. On Cruise Critic I'd read where someone arrived in Seattle on Saturday and wanted to do the Duck Tour, but when she got there, they were already sold out. Because of this, we made our reservations about a month ahead. We loved the Duck Tour. Seeing Seattle on land was fun, but seeing it from the water was spectacular....especially on a sunny day. You left the tour singing, happy, and knowledgeable about a lot of Seattle. It was an hour and half tour and we saw a lot.

We used Priceline and accepted a bid from the Westin-Seattle for $132 a night for a room. We had 2 very nice rooms and the hotel was in a perfect location for us, but we would not return to the Westin-Seattle because they have special transportation contracts. If you don't use their transportation, they will not allow you to stop or leave from their hotel. We had pre-booked Shuttle Express for $54 for 4 of us from the airport and because we were going to the Westin-Seattle, they could not take us. The Westin's transportation service wanted $40 to take us to the Pearl from their hotel the next day, and they said a taxi would cost even more. We ended up getting 2 taxis for $10 each with tip - half the price they quoted us.

Cabin OB

We loved our ocean view room. We did not hear any hallway noise or noise from the rooms next door. We thought it was near the elevators and that would make it noisy, but there was a wall between the room area and the the elevator area and it was very quiet. We have a king size bed at home, but we asked to have the beds separated so that we could get good views from our window. The only reason we might get a balcony or an 8th floor ocean view next time is that not all the elevators went to the 5th deck and sometimes we had to walk a little further to get to the correct elevator. We were glad we had brought extra hangers for the closet.
