This was our first cruise ever, and also our first time to Bermuda. The trip was our honeymoon-we were married on August 2, 2008 and left on the Dawn on August 3, 2008! (We were a little tired that night!) We are 28 and 29 years old. We took the train from Providence, RI to Penn Station, NY. The train was fine and getting to the Dawn from Penn Station was easy and inexpensive by taxi (we gave him $10 and that was the fare and tip).

EMBARKATION: Smooth and easy! There were alot of people there when we arrived at noon, but NCL made it easy to follow where we were supposed to go. The service people who gave us our key cards and checked us in were extremely friendly and quick. We were on the ship, receiving our champagne toast within 20 minutes of arriving at the port!

STATEROOM: We had a balcony in the FWD of the ship. We had a hulled balcony, but we loved it. We could hang our towels and bathing suits out without worrying they would be swept away in the wind! The room was kept clean every day by our room stewards and when we asked for the ice bucket to be refilled every day, they complied. It was clean and just the right size for two people. ACTIVITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT: There was so much to do! My husband and I went to some of the shows in the theater: -Band on the Run-This was a show that featured music from the 70's. Kind of cheesy, but you could tell the Jean Ryan Company really put alot into the singing and dancing. -Bollywood-Another Jean Ryan production, and much better than Band on the Run. This was the show that mixed Cirque De Soleil and Moulin Rouge. Very well presented and the gymnastics were very entertaining! -Dave Heenan-Comedian. He was SO FUNNY! We were glad to catch him the last night. Other than the shows, there was always something going on. We saw the Second City improv group (unfortunately we missed their show in the theater because we were in port that night-I think NCL should hold off on shows until we are back in the water!). We also attended the Pub Crawl, which included alot of fun games and ended at the Disco night. The Disco night was a band playing 70's music that everyone could dance to. Very fun! We went to Monte Carlo night, but it was in the Casino, so we watched the Joker and the Showgirls for a little while then went back to the room. We liked the White Hot Party, which was a club atmosphere that had black lights and played 80's and 90's music. There were alot of teenagers there, though, and it made us feel a little "too old" to be there (even though they played music from OUR generation! haha). Karaoke was fun, but they had a limited selection of karaoke songs. Also, Jose and his wife were excellent. We saw them in Dazzles lounge a couple of nights-they sang all kinds of songs very well. BERMUDA AND SHORE EXCURSIONS: We loved Bermuda! Horseshoe Bay is a MUST! The pink sand beach and clear blue water was beautiful! In Dockyard, we went to the Frog and Onion Pub for some great "Bermudian" food. My husband got the Big Ben there-a 55oz locally brewed beer! We also went to Beethoven's Pub, which was great for lunch. The Rum Cake factory and Glassblowing shop is right in Dockyard. We also went to Hamilton and visited the Crystal Caves. They were beautiful and not to be missed! Down the street, we ended the day at the Swizzle Inn, where we wrote our names on the wall. Those Rum Swizzles are a little dangerous! haha We went on two shore excursions through NCL while in Bermuda: The Dolphin Encounter- so much fun. We learned alot and got to really play with the dolphins. We were so glad that we did this excursion! We also did the Night Snorkel - (note: we went to the same place to do a snorkel during the day since we had never snorkeled before-it was $20 for both of us.) The Night Snorkel consisted of snorkeling while holding a flashlight below the water. I don't know why that costs $78 per person as opposed to $20 for both people, but I guess NCL has to make their money. We happened to have a bad guide who basically took off snorkeling without us and we ended up swimming to catch up with him instead of snorkeling. We complained to the company (Fantasea) and NCL and got 20% off. It is not an excursion I would recommend or do again. Overall, Bermuda was beautiful and we were so happy to be there!

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Hulled balcony (but nice nonetheless), great location-near elevators but far enough away not to hear everyone near them.
