My parents, sister and I just returned from a 7 night cruise to Alaska. We cruised round trip out of Seattle, which worked out great for us. We flew into Seattle on Friday night and stayed at a hotel close to the airport. On Saturday morning around 10 am, we took a town car to the dock, checked in with Princess, checked our bags and then took a taxi to Pikes Place Market. We spent a few hours wandering through Pikes Place and the waterfront, then returned to the dock by taxi (a very quick ride). Since we'd already checked in, we pretty much just walked onto the ship. The process was all very smooth and very easy.

When we arrived at the dock, the room number for my sister and myself had not yet been assigned, so a gentleman there looked it up for us. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the interior cabin we had booked had been upgraded to a room with a window, on the same deck and very close to our parents' cabin. When we arrived our steward, Mario, was there to greet us. He was wonderfully friendly and kind and made the trip very comfortable. Our luggage arrived very quickly and we headed up to the top deck. The Blue Angels were participating in an air show in Seattle and the ship provided an excellent viewing spot, a fun little bonus.

The ship was very nice in my opinion. I didn't really notice anything that needed repair and thought everything looked nice. Our rooms looked out onto the life boats, but the windows are positioned so you can look out over the life boats and I didn't think our view was impeded too much. I could still see everything I wanted to. Our cabin was nice, much roomier than I had expected. The area with the beds was separated from the closet/bathroom area by a wall which I thought was nice. We had a ton of closet space and a nice cabinet with several shelves. The bathroom was tiny, but that was to be expected. There was a desk with a chair, a side table and another chair in the room, so we felt there was plenty of seating and space. The room also included a small refrigerator which could have come in handy although we didn't use it. Everything worked perfectly in the room and when a light started flickering in the bathroom, it was replaced within an hour of our call.
