There were 4 of us in this group; DH, DS, SIL and myself. This was our first cruise so were very excited! We flew into Miami the day before the cruise and stayed at Embassy Suites near the airport. Very nice hotel and would stay there again if given the chance. We used the hotel's shuttle service for transfer from airport to hotel. We arranged through the hotel for a private courier to pick up the next morning to take us to the port. Enjoyed complimentary cocktails in the evening at the hotel and a wonderful complimentary breakfast the next morning. At 11:00 am we went to our designated spot to meet the shuttle. We met a wonderful couple on the shuttle (hey Taylor & Danielle!) who were celebrating their honeymoon! We arrived to the ship probably a little before 11:30 am. Check in was very easy and the lines weren't too long. We knew we couldn't get into our rooms until 1:00 pm so we headed up to the Windjammer for lunch. We found plenty there to eat. We looked around the ship for awhile and purchased our coke passes for the week. Soon after we were able to go to our rooms. We had rooms 4577 and 4579 on Deck 4. Yes, the rooms were small, but we felt that we had plenty of storage and that were adequate for what little time we spent in there. Most of our suitcases arrived shortly after we were allowed in our cabins, a couple of our suitcases did not arrive until supper. We changed into our swimsuits and headed out to the pool to soak up the first bit of sunshine. It was soon time for the muster drill so we got dressed and headed to our assigned stations for the drill. It was very organized and didn't take long at all. We took our life jackets back to our rooms and headed up to Deck 11 to watch Sail away. We had early seating so we decided to not change for Supper and went in our casual clothes, as there were many who did the same thing. Our Asst. Waiter was Allyn (sp?) from India. He was great! We had a lot of fun with him. Those waiters work very hard! I thought the food on the whole was very good! We did catch the shows every evening. We really enjoyed them the 1st and 2nd nights. We really didn't care for the Comedian the 3rd night, but that's ok! We checked out the casino one evening but didn't spend much money or time there! At Nassau, we took a 2 hour taxi tour. It was $25.00 each and not worth the money at all. We did see some of the sights we wanted to see (Atlantis) but also saw that we could have cared less about! After the tour we walked through many of the shops and also through part of the Straw Market. I am not sure if I would go back to the Straw Market again. The vendors were very pushy and it was extremely hot in there! We headed back to the ship to get some lunch and to enjoy the pool. I have read on here about Chairhogs on the ship; we did not seem to have trouble with this. The next day was Coco Cay - what a beautiful island! We really enjoyed this. We decided not to do any excursions. We did have rain for about 25 minutes but it soon ended and were able to enjoy the rest of the day. We rented mats and floated in the water. It was soooo hot and humid and floating in the water was great! We DH and DS enjoyed the BBQ on the island. We left to go back to the ship and to once again enjoy the pool. DH and I decided to attend the Shopping seminar on Key West. We did purchase the Shoppers Pass for $25.00. I was really skeptical of this but decided to do it anyways. You do get a lot of great stuff with this, included a charm bracelet and charms to collect at each port (wish I would have done this in Nassau). That evening was formal night and since we did not bring along formal clothes we decided to skip the dining room that evening (even though our Asst. Waiter encouraged us to come!). We decided to check out Johnny Rockets. It was a lot of fun and the waiters were fun to watch. We did the midnight buffet and really enjoyed all the beautiful ice sculptures. The next day was Key West. We had never been there before but we did enjoy it. We did spend most of the day going around to the shops that were on the Shoppers Pass to collect our free goodies! I did win a Sapphire/Diamond necklace from Diamond International as part of the Shoppers Pass so be sure to the sign up for the drawing and be there for the drawing. I guess it would the $25.00 spent on the Pass worth it! We did not do any excursions in Key West either. We had supper in the dining room that evening and spent the rest of the evening at the show, and looking through the shops. We chose to do self disembark since we had a 11:30 am flight. It was very easy and we were able to catch a shuttle (for $8.00 each) and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare. We did attend the Love & Marriage, Battle of the Sexes and Quest also. There were very fun to watch! I was able to meet Debbie & Chuck from CruiseCritic.com and enjoyed talking with them by the pool. It was a great cruise and the staff on the ship was wonderful. Can't wait to get the opportunity to sail again!
