We took a family cruise in which we coordinated 27 people flying from different parts of the United States to Barcelona, Spain. Everyone arrived on time, which is amazing as we used nine different airlines, to get everyone there, and got "decent" fares as we booked them about 3 months in advance. I would suggest with a big group like this, that you try to use your travel agent's airline reservation packages. This was not an option for us, because we had people arriving and departing from different European cities, on different days. The hotel we chose to stay at was adequate, it was expensive to get to the port which was about 15 minutes away from the hotel by taxi, because we were not able to secure a bus or minivan. Arriving to check in was pretty organized, as was most of the excursions and time spent on the ship. The staff was friendly, and our group coordinator was friendly and overworked. We did not receive any complaints about any of the offered excursions that we picked a couple months in advance. Every one seemed to be happy with their choices. We loved having a Junior Suite with a balcony although all of the regular rooms we booked did have views of the ocean and were adequate, we realized only after we booked them that you could have views of the mall at slightly cheaper price. There were a lot of activities on the ship, and this type of cruise needs more time if you are to enjoy everything. 7 days isn't enough. At least 10 to 14 days would be a good length of time for this itinerary. For me personally the whole thing is a blur, and I am remembering what we did through the pictures everyone took. The only complaint we had was that the food, was not excellent. It was only adequate. If there were one thing I would improve on this ship it would be food quality. There was a lot available, but nothing outstanding in the regular dining rooms.
