Wow! How to begin........first of all, an introduction: we are Dave & Marlene Fitzsimmons, from Saskatoon, SK., Canada. Being landlubbers and "Prairie Chickens" (we live right in the middle of the Canadian Prairies) we were looking for a special way to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. It was by chance that I was walking by a travel agency and looked in the window to see a friend of ours at a desk! Went in to say hello, one thing led to another, and soon we were talking about a cruise. To make a long story short, with her help we selected a 7 night cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Norwegian Sun.

Here's how it all played out:

Thurs., Mar 20/08. We departed Saskatoon at noon on a cold, grey winter day. Temp. was hovering around -2 C, light snow falling (more like sleet), and dirty grey sky. There wasn't much snow left on the ground by this time, but the countryside was bare and brown.......nothing much turns green until late April/early May in this part of the world. Got into Toronto about 4 hours later (we were delayed in Winnipeg for an hour due to a storm in Toronto), picked up our luggage, and headed to US Customs and our connecting flight to Fort Lauderdale, FL. Finally left Toronto around 9:30 pm. on the last leg of our flight to warmth and palm trees.
