Comments on July 6-13 Alaska cruise

Seattle is an excellent starting point with lots to do/visit before or after cruise if you wish and it avoids most all immigration/customs issues. If you are there an extra day at dinner or lunch time consider the (pier) Six-Seven Restaurant in the waterfront Edgewater Hotel. Somewhat expensive, but wow, food and view.

I can see why most 1st time cruisers seem to like the Pearl very much. It is clean and bright, has comfortable cabins and generally good entertainment, and seems efficiently operated. If the weather is decent, Alaska is a "can't miss" itinerary. But the Pearl does have obvious 'issues' for those that have wider experience.

Cabin Review

Romance suite: excellent space & layout & bathroom, room for 3 on balcony - 2 reclining, appetizer perk & fruit selection great. Butler & concierge maybe useful for some cruisers, not so much for us. "Dinnette" chairs in room uncomfortable & so slippery that it was difficult to stay in them. Other in-room chairs very nice. Portable/wireless "house" phone very useful to find each other and call others in our group. Access to Cagney's restaurant for breakfast & lunch very nice, avoiding noise & crush of buffet.
