When all was said and done, I asked like I always asked what was your favorite part of the trip. My wife said that it was the people that we met, the islands and her ring. My oldest daughter said it was the excursions and how big the ship was and all that there was to do. My youngest daughter whom we had to bribe to get on the flowrider a 3rd time so we could get some pictures said that it was the flowrider, and the excursions and the pizza that she ate everynight. Mine was seeing the happiness on my families faces. Some cruises that you go on you feel rushed and like you don't have time for everything. We did not feel that way on this cruise, it was one of the best I have had. I asked the girls if they wanted to go on this cruise again or Disney. They both said they wanted to go on this cruise again, because of all the things that they could do and they felt more apart of everything. My family and I have cruised all over, with Disney mostly, with carnival and twice now with RC. We went on our first RC cruise last year on the for our anniversary. While onboard we decided to try the Freedom with the kids for our summer vacation. Before we set sail I thought that it was a bit pricey and wouldn't be worth everything that we were paying but when all was said and done I can't say anything but it was worth every penny. The memories, the professionalism of the crew and the class of the ship were some of the best that we have seen. Getting on the ship was quick and painless and before we knew it we were ready to begin our adventure. We went on the Freedom of the Seas, a ship that is said to be the largest cruise ship sailing, not as long as the Queen E II but it is wider and taller so I guess it all works out. Getting around the ship that large really isn't as hard as we thought that it was going to be. The layout makes sense, all you have to do is remember if you want to go to the Bow or Stern, and Aft or Starboard. My 10 year old daughter was able to do it because of the pictures that they put on the hallways and in the stairwells, she knew if we were going to go to our room she looked for the picture of the girls swimming in their dresses, our hallway had a poodle on it ect. The main floor was set out really nice with bars and shops and had that downtown look and feel to it. It even had the street vendors that wanted you to buy whatever they were selling. There were tons of activities onboard the ship, for the kids and for the adults, I really wasn't impressed with the Bon Voyage party, but we are used to Disney and they make it a lot bigger and memorable. They had a dance party and our girls got a kick out of it and even got on the video of the it. You of course had your bingo and wine tasting and TONS of activities for the kids. I would highly recommend going on the flow rider. It doesn't matter if you have never surfed before or body boarded, the staff there will help you out and nobody judges you if you fall flat on your face, because a lot of people do and that is part of the fun of it all. Don't try and order room service the the first night, it takes a long time, our first order didn't ever come and our second order took 2 hours, after that when we did order the room service it was fast enough and good. The breakfast selection for room service is lacking, it offers peanut butter, jams and jellies but no toast of any sort to put it on. It didn't offer pastries either, which was a disappointment. We wish that it could have had more on it. The service through out the ship was awesome. My daughter loved the pizza and by the 2nd night when she came in, they knew that she was going to get 2 cheese togo. They knew her by name and made her feel special when she came in and they were able to say hello and have her order ready almost before she asked. The waitstaff that we had was great, they knew our names and drinks by the end of the first night. We decided on the excursions as a family, as there were so many to choose from. On Labadee we did the dragons breathe tour. The people on the ship did make it seem as though you could not get there without transportation when we asked if we could just walk there. I was a little perturbed about that. Once we got there as everything was within walking distance and they offered free shuttles to and from some of the different points. The market there, the vendors there were way to pushy and it scared the children. Our next excursion was Dunns River Falls and the Dolphin swim. It was awesome!! The girls loved it and I highly recommend it. Talking to people about their different excursions they all said they loved all of them and I don't think that you can go wrong with any that you book.

This was the first time and the last time that we had an inside cabin. The beds on the bottom couldn't be pushed together so I spent the entire cruise away from my wife on a single bunk bed, I felt like I was in the barracks again.

The Food was great each night, but I don't think that Chef Ramsey from hells kitchen would like the Resoto. They could also use trays for bringing food back to your room.

Cabin Review

Cabin 3

Didn't know you could fit 4 people in a room that small.

Beds wouldn't push together spent the whole cruise on bunk beds.
