Sail Date: Jun 2008
Traveled with children

We are a family of five, children ages 12, 10 and 8. We sailed out of Miami on June 29th, Eastern Caribbean. This was our first cruise, and it exceeded my expectations.

Pre and Post Cruise: We flew into Ft. Lauderdale a day early and stayed at Trump International in Sunny Isles Beach, which is 20 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and 35 minutes from the Port. The hotel had great food and huge rooms and a very nice pool area. It was also right on the beach. We also stayed there the night we got back to Port. Next time, I think I'd still arrive a day early, but I'd probably fly home the same day.

We arrived at the port a little before noon and were on the ship by 12:45. I wished we had arrived earlier as there were plenty of people who had gotten there earlier and it was so exciting to finally be on the ship. We had lunch at Sorrento's, thereby avoiding the crowds at Windjammer. I highly recommend this. The pizza and snacks at Sorrento's are great and it was nearly empty when we boarded.
