BACKGROUND & SUMMARY
My wife and I are late twenty-somethings with no kids who live in the Atlanta, GA area. Prior to this cruise, we had sailed the Baltic Sea with Royal Caribbean. Admittedly, some of our review is from the perspective, as we found ourselves subconsciously comparing our NCL experience with RCI. We did have some hesitancy sailing with NCL this year due to the mixed reviews about NCL. Although we acknowledge there is room for improvement with the NCL experience, overall we were very satisfied and would rate NCL equal or above to our RCI experience. Much of our enjoyment with NCL had to do with the Freestyle concept which was very complimentary to how we like to cruise (multiple dining options, ability to sit with others or alone, and possibly most important - not having to adhere to scheduled dining times) and what we found to be a very reasonable price to value ratio.
PRE-EMBARKATION AND EMBARKATION
Location is mixed. Good because its near the central elevator, but also across from the closet where the cabin stewards stow their cleaning supplies. It can be noisy early in the morning. Balcony is somewhat obscured due to an overhang from the deck above. Most cabins mid-ship on this side had this issue.
