Our family of 4 traveled to Hawaii to cruise the Pride of America the last week of May 2008. We consist of Mom (47), Dad (48), Daughter (17) and Son (13). We had an absolutely fantastic trip and one we have been wanting to do for many years. We wanted to get this last family trip in before our daughter goes off to college in another year!

We arrived the Friday before and stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (HHV). We were met at the airport by Tom Lee of ABC Limousine Service. He was there right on time and presented Leis to each of us. I had booked this in advance on the internet so the family was surprised. They were even more surprised when Tom took us out to the limousine for the ride to the hotel.

At the HHV, the line to check in was long. However, I was a Hilton HHonors member and got to go to a special short line. If staying here, sign up for this free program! We stayed in the Rainbow Tower and had a room on the 19th floor with a beautiful view of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach. We watched the hula show from our balcony and tried hard to stay awake until the fireworks at 8:00. We fell asleep about 7:45, but the fireworks were right outside our hotel being fired from the beach and we immediately woke up on the first boom and were able to watch them. What a wonderful show from our balcony as they exploded so very nearby.

Cabin B2

We really liked our cabin location. It was 3 floors below the Aloha Cafe and 2 and 3 floors above the Liberty and Skyline dining rooms. We could easily use the stairs if we needed to when the elevators were busy. We spent most of our time on the Aft/Middle part of the ship and our aft location fit perfectly. The room is a good size for 2 people, but 3 or 4 really pushes it. Since we were a family with kids, it worked, but don't try and put 2 couples in this room.
